OctoZip ("we", "our", "the app") is a video compression application developed by Meru Apps. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use OctoZip.
No Data Collection
OctoZip does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All video processing is performed entirely on your device using local computing resources.
Videos Stay on Your Device
Your videos are never uploaded to any server. Compression happens 100% on-device. Compressed files are saved directly to your device's local storage. We have no access to your media files at any time.
Permissions We Request
Storage / Media — read videos you select, save compressed output to your gallery only.
Notifications — used to notify you when a compression is complete, especially for longer videos running in the background.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect anonymized usage statistics and crash reports — no personal data, no video content. You can opt out via your Google account settings.
In-App Purchases
Subscriptions are processed entirely through Google Play. We do not collect or store payment information. Transaction records are managed by Google.
Children's Privacy
OctoZip is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Contact us immediately if you believe a child has provided information.
